Old Fashioned Millhouse Converts to Modern Wedding Venue

June 10, 2014

Waxhaw, NC—The Millhouse, a pavilion overlooking both Twelve Mile Creek and the Water Garden at MillBridge, housed a wedding on Saturday, June 7th at 4:30 in the afternoon. The couple, both residents of the community in Waxhaw, reserved the area for their nuptial day with excited anticipation for a rustic wedding to be followed by a pool party reception at the junior Olympic lap pool, just beside the MillHouse. Completed with the addition of a tent, dance floor, DJ, catering, and portable AC unit to battle the southern summer heat, the structure housed a party of approximately fifty, who enjoyed an evening at MillBridge with family and friends.

The MillHouse is one of the many picturesque amenities of the 9,000 acre master planned community where the couple resides. On their way to the ceremony, guests crossed the only functioning covered bridge in the region, and entered through the pool area, passing the zero entry aquatic playground, four square court, and pool pavilion.
The bride and friends decorated the venue with paper flowers cut from book pages, burlap bows, mason jars, skeleton keys, and tables with elegant black cloths. Fifty black folding chairs faced the balcony where the couple was wed, overlooking Twelve Mile Creek.
