Teen Council Fundraising Event for Women’s History Month: Soles4Souls

For Women’s History Month Millbridge’s Teen Council has banded together and are partnering with the non-profit organization Soles4Souls to empower women in emerging nations with the opportunity to start and sustain small businesses to help them step out of poverty.
Eager to help the MillBridge Teen Council hit their goal of 500?
It’s easy! Simply clean out your closets of any gently used shoes (any type, size, age, gender), and drop off this donation to the Millbridge clubhouse! A shoe donation box is located inside the clubhouse. Your Donations will be shipped to Soles4Souls at the end of March and Soles4Souls will promptly organize and distribute your donations to over 127 countries around the world! The Millbridge Teen Council has a goal to empower women across the globe and collect 500 pairs of shoes to donate!
The shoes you no longer want will provide many women with the opportunity they need. Help Millbridge’s Teen Council support this cause!
Soles4Souls is a non-profit organization  that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the globe. Their micro-enterprise program utilizes new and gently-worn shoes as a resource to help entrepreneurs generate a sustainable income for themselves and their families. The sale of just one pair of shoes can help a woman entrepreneur provide five meals for a family in places like Haiti and Honduras. Approximately  900 million people around the world  live on less than $1.90 per day. 400 million are children. Women entrepreneurs are on the rise and statistics show that income generated by women in emerging nations is invested in their families’ education, health, and nutrition, therefore strengthening their communities and nations.
